Brick Lane Street Style

Coming a blog near you?

My Dad has a unique style, which to many is seen as 'weird'. Okay it is different but it's him - although it causes a few stares which I hate :P He used to be a punk with my mum in the 70s so his style is based on that. He has been wearing creepers every since I was young so it's weird they have all come back out again!

This guy asked to take photos of my dad in Brick Lane and was taking loads of close ups, no idea what it was for! Maybe I will see it on a fashion blog - street style post! :P

Tie Dye

Dress - Missguided
Jacket - Mum's vintage Levi (reworked) from the 80s
Socks - Primark
Creepers - Underground via Office

Last night I made a spontaneous decision to add a wash out purple hair dye to the ends of my hair. It didn't take that well but you can still see it and I love it so much I'm going to buy permanent hair dye to re-dye it! I'm so excited!

I bought this dress in a recent (large) order from Missguided, there is still so much I want to order from there! I'm loving these off the shoulder dresses and crops out at the moment.

I wore this last night to a the most haunted pub in Kent in the village of Pluckley which is apparently the most haunted village in England! I know no one will believe me but me and my friend DEFINITELY had a ghostly experience and I have two witnesses to back me up! Just a quick post today as now I'm off out before the shops shut to pick up some more hair dye. Loving having all this free time now, I don't know what to do with myself.

Cosmo Superblogger MasterClass

Camo jacket - Rokit (DIY)
Dress - Primark
Belt - Grandads
Boots - Doc Martens

On Monday 14th May I travelled into Central London for the Cosmopolitan Superblogger Masterclass! First me and my mum popped into a few shops in Oxford Circus (seriously no more shopping for me for a while!!!) Then we went to Bella Italia with my dad. I love that they offer 20% student discount, I'm going to miss being a student :(

We went along to Kings Cross around 6 to meet with my friend Camilla to go to the British Library for the event. We went to the bar to get our glass of champagne and were treated to mini salmon and cream cheese squares and mini yorkshire puddings!

After chatting for about half an hour everyone was asked to go in to the auditorium for the Superblogger master class! There were seven people on the panel which included Louise Court (Cosmopolitan editor - I recently interviewed her for a university project!), Pat McNulty (Digital editor of Cosmopolitan), Dominic Smales from Gleam Digital, Andreas Pouros from Greenlight Digital, Vicki Fogwill from Next, blogger Fashion Foie Gras  and Kat Williams from Rock n Roll Bride.

The panel taught me so much about my blog. Some things I already knew and plan to improve - my layout and my photos. My blog is in need of a huge makeover! I wish the masterclass had taught us more on blog layouts because this is something I really can't seem to do, it's easy right? I need someone to show me! Photos are a difficult thing to improve as I don't have the time to go outside, to a nice location, and take photos as I always take my outfit of the day images just before I'm heading out so they are often pretty rushed!

The class influenced me to start my own YouTube channel...so maybe I will, if I can get the confidence. I have considered making one for years since I was about 13. Me and my friends used to make silly videos about seven years ago but that doesn't count...

I can't believe fashion blogger Foie Gras used to blog up to TEN times a day! TEN! I used to think posting everyday was over the top. It's amazing she is so dedicated to it and now can make her full time job, I'll definitely be reading her blog and Rock n Roll Bride more often now. I LOVE reading blogs and writing my own and turning it into a full time job would be AMAZING. But I have a long way to go. Foie Gras and Rock n Roll are such inspirational bloggers and they have come so far!

I took some notes from the event and here are the top tips on blogging I took from the event:
  • Remove photos you do not own!
  • Keep the same picture and bio on your blog Twitter/Facebook/YouTube/Blogger/Instagram
  • Have a well designed blog
  • Good quality photos
  • Good writing
  • Be careful what you tweet
I plan to work on all of this over the summer...I have a lot to do!

I didn't think of bringing my camera along to take photos so I used my phone.

Photos from the day

Some coconut water for the train!

Dinner in Bella Italia

At the Cosmo event with Camilla and my mum!

The panel!

Drinks after!

The goody bag which included dry shampoo, fake pan and mitt, heat defence, body shop body butter (my favourite scent which I just used up!!), eyebrow pencil, deodorant, eyebrow pencil, deep cleansing oil, shampoo and of course an issue of Cosmopolitan!

Oh and I bought some things in Topshop and Zara on Oxford Street - SO bad!!

Black Midi

Dress -Primark
Belt - Grandads
Boots - Docs

Another midi! I've featured quite a few on my blog so far this year, I'm definitely obsessed. I wouldn't be seen dead in a dress/skirt past my knees a few years ago. Oh how your taste changes!

This is a plain outfit, well for me as I dress too bright sometimes. I bought this dress back in December for £10 but have only just got around to wearing it after I saw an exact copy in Topshop for £28!

I think I have lost a little weight recently so I need to make another hole in this belt, it's a little too loose in these photos - this was appreciated by my food baby though ;)

I may even wear this dress out with heels in the future for a night out, there are lots of different ways you can style it - I have another THREE posts coming up featuring this dress!

This is a scheduled post. After today second year will be over, all of my work will be handed in and my interview will be over then I can celebrate! I am so excited I can't explain! Expect outfit posts from tonight up soon.

Tonight's the night when we forget about the deadlines...

Blooper!

Blazer - Rokit
Top - eBay
Leggings - Select
Heels - Primark

Here is something else I picked up in the Brick Lane Rokit. As you can probably tell from my posts or if you know me, I love my blazers, especially vintage blazers! This one is very thin and light so it is great for summer and summer evenings! I recently wore it to uni with a white lace crop and black midi (although I didn't take any photos oops)

I move into my new place in this summer in London and I can't wait! Although I'm not sure how blog photos will work - yes I have been trying to work it out already. I will have to decide when I get there were the best place for photos is hahah! I may have to steal my dads tripod as I won't have my usual photographers around to take my snaps!

Speaking of outfit photos, I'm heading to Greece & Spain in June and I think that means there will be some great opportunities for outfit photos! (unless it's too hot for me then hair, make up and dressing up goes out the window!) I may have to cheekily ask my friend to take my photos (hehe sorry Sarah if you are reading this ;))

I really should write in these posts about the outfit I'm wearing instead of rambling on about nonsense as always...

Loserville

This outfit is really not me. But I fancied trying something a little different - but still it isn't very me.

I actually took these photos last September, wow, but never posted them as I wasn't too keen but looking back I realised how much this outfit reminded me of Loserville, the play I saw back in December. I think I've actually lost a bit of weight since I took this photos so hopefully I will find wearing these shorts more comfortable this summer - although I do hate getting my legs out during the day in summer as they are SO pale! :(

I wanted to find something to wear this top and I thought this combination worked well, although I feel it makes me look geeky! This isn't my kind of outfit so not I will wear it out this summer...I do need to find an outfit to wear this tee with though!

( & like most of my OOTD posts I am featuring the family portrait taken when I was 10 hahaha!)

(It looks like the fly is un done...it definitely wasn't hahaha!)

Top - F**k Yeah top from Tumblr - Italy (such a random buy haha)
Shorts - Topshop
Socks - Primark
Shoes - Vans

eBay Spectacular: Neon Knit and Black Midi

Jumper & Skirt - eBay

I am eBay obsessed! It is full of such amazing bargains. I've been waiting for the next free listing weekend so I can add some more things and annoyingly it's now, the weekend I have so much uni work to do! (Although I found some time to come on here hehe) Selling a lot of old things on eBay has meant I have been able to treat myself to some new clothes on ebay and Missguided recently. Although most of the things sold have been my mums but she is too kind and buys me things with the money. (Love you mum if you are reading this...I think she's just discovered my blog - a year late mum!)

I featured both items on my eBay finds. I bought the jumper first and then couldn't decide what to style it with as it's so bright, it needs something basic with it. I could also pair with mom jeans (if I ever decide to buy some more after I had to send my others back), disco pants or denim shorts.

It definitely looked a lot brighter outside than when I was getting ready inside but I love the style of it and it's perfect for this weird hot one day cold the next weather. I wore this casually to uni all day where I basically sat in the computer room for 6 hours working on a magazine!

The jumper is tucked it so it makes me look pregnant and like I have a Iggy Azalea booty!
